Full Event information for pilots is below. It contains a summary of information for pilots about entering the event such as the various entry fee options and service's provided, registration requirements (pilot qualifications) etc. Please also check the Local Regulations for more information.

PILOT REGISTRATION : The online registation is now CLOSED (except for vacant place - re-allcoation entries)

PIlots, Team Leaders, and NAC's can register pilots on this web site (please do not double up - check the pilot list first !). FAI and the event organiser will then confirm places and note them on the pilot list.

TEAM SIZE INFO : Click on link above ! The Official Nations Ranking is calculated from WPRS at Oct 24th 2006. Team managers please note : the old system for team size calculation will be used (ie: min 2+1, max 5+2). For female places the FAI web site notes : All nations will have the right to have one female pilot on the team. The nations ranked 1 - 10 in the female WPRS rankings will be entitled to have 2 female pilots per team. For extra team pilots above your WPRS team size - please refer to infomation on the registration page (you can register now in anticipation of a vacant place re-allocation).

PILOT QUALIFICATION INFO : The requirements for entry to be achieved by Dec 24th are :

- Top 1000 WPRS or 2 XC flights more than 50kms or made goal in 2 FAI Cat 2 event tasks of 40kms+

REGISTRATION DATES : The WPRS used is the Oct 24th 2006 list update.

- Entry deadline 24th November 2006

- Payment deadline 4th December 2006

- Pilot Qualification proof deadline 24th Dec 2006

- Vacant places reallocation 24th December 2006

IMPORTANT VISA INFORMATION: Do you or your team assistants and friends need an invitation from the organistion to obtain an AUSTRALIAN ENTRY VISA ? If so then please contact Godfrey as soon as possible.

How to Register - please read !

For site security purposes the registration is a two step process:

Step 1 : First register on the web site as a user. If you registered on the web site for the 2006 Pre-Worlds then you already have a user name and password - you can go to Step 2 now ! This web site user registration must be done for each individual pilot - Team Leaders can not event register all their pilots using only one user name !

- Click on “register“ in the top right corner. This is NOT the actual competition registration (that is step 2) – this step is only a web site user registration. Fill out your details and be careful that your email address is exactly correct !

- The system will then send an e-mail to your registered email address with a verification code.

- Return to the website and log-on using your username, password and verification code. After this verification step, you will not need to use the code again.

- If you do not immediatly receive an email with your verification code then it is possible you entered a mistake with your email address or it bounced ! Please contact the organiser for your password and v-code etc.

- If all is OK and you can log into the web site then you can proceed with step 2.

 Step 2 : You are now a registered user of the website and the rego form appears at the bottom of the rego page) and you can register for the event.

- Simply go to the registration page form which now is visible and complete the required pilot details - your name will already be on the top ! Note that you can return to this form at a later stage to make changes to your registration as required (eg: glider change, entry option change etc).

Once registered for the event you can return to the site using your username and password at any time. Should you forget your password, you can have the system e-mail it to your registered e-mail address using the password reminder facility.

General Information Summary – please also refer to the Local Regulations

Purpose :

A FAI Category 1 Paragliding World Championship event to determine the World Champion Individual (male and female) and Nation.

Organiser :

The 2007 event is organised by Godfrey Wenness of Manilla SkySailors Club who has been responsible for 15 successful high level FAI Cat 2 events over the past 12 years with 120-150 pilots entered annually since 1999. All main staff are highly qualified mostly local XC pilots.

Medical and Rescue Services :

Manilla has a fully equipped district level Hospital, Ambulance and Rescue service approx 10 minutes from Mt Borah. An Ambulance with highly trained officers, Manilla Rescue Squad and State Emergency Services will be on the Mt Borah site daily. Tamworth has a major regional hospital where serious trauma cases are delivered via helicopter. There is a national specialist spinal injury ward in Newcastle Hospital approx 30mins flying time from Tamworth where all serious cases that need operations are transferred to by aero-ambulance once stabilised.

During the competition (and practise days) the local Tamworth based Westpac rescue helicopter – a turbine Bell 407 - will be on stand by as always. The flight time from the Tamworth helicopter base to Mt Borah is 12mins. The helicopter, which is also night VFR approved, has all medical equipment, is equipped with a winch, and has 2x highly trained Paramedic’s and a rescue operator on board.

All Ambulance services in the flying region will be notified of the event and of the daily task route.

Sanction :

The competition is sanctioned FAI Category 1.

Entry Size :

The maximum number of competitors is 150 pilots.

Pilot Qualifications :

Only pilots with a FAI Sporting License, appropriate qualifications and who are selected by their National Aero Club can enter.

Event HQ :

The Manilla Town Hall is the event HQ – it is in the main shopping centre street (Manilla St) at the Country Link bus stop.

Registration :

Please also refer to the “How to“ 2 step procedure information above. To enter the competition you need to log on to this web site (ie become a logged in user of the site), then fill out the on-line competition registration form, and send (or fill out credit card details) the appropriate payments as detailed. NOTE : After submitting the online rego form you should check to see your name is on the pilots list ! A pilot number helmet sticker, glider numbers, welcome pack and GPS download will be given to you at the final registration as well as a receipt if requested.
